Jackie Rowles, DNP, MBA, MA, CRNA, ANP-BC, NSPM-C, FNAP, FAANA, FAAN is a former AANA President and the AANA representative to the International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists. She is in her 5th term as President of the International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists (IFNA). Nominated by the International Council of Nurses (ICN), Rowles was selected by the United Nations Global Surgery Learning Hub Project Team to serve on the 2023-2025 Content Committee, charged with development of quality online surgery and anesthesia education, and was elected Vice-Chair of the committee by her physician colleagues. She is a member of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists Global Manpower Survey Committee whose 2023 report was accepted for publication in the Anesthesia and Analgesia. Rowles was the catalyst for development of the 2021 ICN Advanced Practice Nursing Guidelines: Nurse Anesthetist, a co-editor and chapter author of the 2021 book "The Voice for Global Anesthesia: The International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists (1989-2021)" and the co-editor and chapter author of the recently published 2023 book "Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Anesthetists: Evolution of the Global Roles", a part of the ICN Advanced Practice Nursing Series. Rowles has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout her career including the AANA's Alice Magaw Clinical Practitioner of the Year Award in 2005, Agatha Hodgins Award in 2012, the 2018 IFNA Hermi Lohnert Award for Outstanding Global Accomplishment and the AANA Foundation's Rita L. Leblanc Philanthropist of the Year Award. She is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice and Director of the Advanced Pain Management Fellowship at Texas Christian University.
