Assistant Professor
Rush University Nurse Anesthesia DNP Program
Rochester, Michigan, United States
Dr. Cindy Farina has served as an assistant professor with the Rush University Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice Program since 2020. Her passion for education is driven by the desire to give back to the nurse anesthesiology profession as an educator of future CRNAs, and her love of lifelong education that fuels excellence in clinical practice.
Cindy has been a practicing CRNA since 1996, after graduating from the Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia. She undertook a formal position as an educator as a late career professional. Cindy is well acquainted with the challenges to personal well-being that come with the roles of clinician and educator. As a past chair of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists and Michigan Associate of Nurse Anesthetists Wellness Committees, she enjoys raising awareness of the challenges to the well-being of CRNAs in clinical practice and SRNAs. Currently, she has expanded her interests to identifying wellness challenges encountered by nurse anesthesia educators and ways to stay healthy in the educator role.
