(Virginia) Chris Simmons, DNP, CRNA, CHSE-A, FAANA, FAAN is a Clinical Professor and the Program Director of the Duke University Nurse Anesthesia Program. Dr. Simmons is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, was the first CRNA in the world to earn CHSE-Advanced certification, is a National League for Nursing Simulation Leader, serves on the NBCRNA Airway Panel, and serves as Co-Chair of the NBCRNA Simulation Subcommittee. Dr. Simmons also serves on multiple other organizational committees including the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), she has chaired and published numerous manuscripts and DNP projects, serves as a reviewer for six peer-reviewed journals, has served on the Duke Institutional Review Board since 2011, and is an inaugural AANA Fellow.
