Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Why do these Matter? As we look into the future, how will AI and ML change our vision for Anesthesiology as a specialty. These are emerging trends that we need to understand and keep our minds open to, so that as we face the challenges and uncertainties of the future, our profession will be ready to explore new worlds with AI, and be a complement to us as we continue to transform and evolve as a profession.

Identify the historical evolution of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Describe the scope of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Determine the potential impact of AI/ML on at least three aspects of anesthesia practice (clinical, education, practice management).
Identify the benefits of Machine Learning algorithms for intraoperative predictive analytics for select clinical events in anesthesia (i.e. post-induction hypotension).
Identify one action that CRNAs must consider to thrive in the Age of Data, Machine Learning and AI.
