Update: AANA Analgesia and Anesthesia for the Obstetric Patient (1 Class A CE with 1 Pharm)

Maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity in the United States is rising with high rates of racial, ethnic, and geographic disparities. The AANA supports patient safety through the use of evidence-based analgesia and anesthesia practices . Recently the AANA Analgesia and Anesthesia for the Obstetric Patient evidence-based practice guidelines were reviewed and updated to offer guidance for anesthesia professionals to manage care of parturients during labor and delivery and related procedures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify maternal morbidity and mortality incidence and etiology.
  • Review updated AANA Practice Guidelines; Analgesia and Anesthesia for the Obstetric Patient.
