Among Adult Patients Suffering From Anosmia in the Setting of “Long COVID,” Is the Stellate Ganglion Block an Effective Treatment for Olfactory Dysfunction When Compared to Intranasal and Systemic Corticosteroids? (State of the Science Oral Poster Session) (.25 Class A CE)
The AANA Foundation's State-of-the-Science Oral Poster Session features sixteen CRNAs and/or SRNAs presenting their research findings classroom-presentation style. Each researcher is given 15 minutes in which to present their research and answer questions. Presentations will be focused in two areas- research and evidence-based projects.
Learning Objectives:
Identify which patients may benefit from treatment of COVID-19 related anosmia with blockade of the stellate ganglion.
Understand the benefits of further research investigating how regional anesthesia can positively benefit this patient population.
Identify the role of the nurse anesthetist in the advancement of treatment options for patients suffering from long term anosmia after COVID-19 infection and improvement in their overall quality of life.
